There’s just SO MUCH celeb gossip going around, it’s impossible to keep up with it on. I just don’t know how some folks do it - - although, I know some of them do this celebrity gossip blogging thing full time. So, I thought - once a week, I’d do a round up to kind of bring myself up to speed on all the goings on in celebrity gossip blogging that’s going on out there and share some link love with some of the favs I have in celeb gossiping.

Thought we would join in the Thursday Thirteen fun this week - with a Diva Twist. Instead of 13 things directly about Me - I have thirteen celebrity facts I’ve run across this week and found to be interesting:

1. Former N’Sync singer, Lance Bass, has come out of the closet and a public confession of his gayness. Well, duh. Like we didn’t see that coming from a mile away.. like 5 years ago. Now, what I want to see is some People Magazine covers of celebrities who are straight with cover headlines that say “I’m NOT Gay” or “Hey, I like having sex with people of the opposite sex!” or soemthing.. just to even out the waters here.

It’s a rare (maybe this is a first?) thing that Diva Dish touches on politics here. Seriously, celebrities are well known for spouting off their 1, 2, 3, 4… cents on topics ranging from the environment, war, foreign policy, guns - you name it, Hollywood has a platform for everything - most of it nonsense and of no greater value than the political commentary of your next door neighbor (unless your neighbor happens to be a Bush or a Kennedy, then well.. ya know).

But, this quote from Brad Pitt regarding Angelina’s new movie project really just shows how sheltered and isolated some of Hollywood really is in their ‘make love, not war’ completely politically correct way of irritatingly tolerating absolutely every thing.

The movie? A Mighty Heart by Marianne Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Now, forget the fact that a movie has already been made about Daniel Pearl. Oh yes, it has! It was distributed across the internet just as fast as the little data lines could carry it. The movie was made by the terrorists.

To summarize: Daniel Pearl was a reporter who was lured into an interview, kidnapped by Islamic fundamentalists (read: terrorists) and brutally killed by beheading in front of rolling video cameras. Before chopping off his head - the terrorists asked Pearl to identify himself. Not by name. Not by country. Not by occupation. But by religion. Identify himself as a Jew - once he did, off went his head! He was killed because he was a Jew.

This is the concept that Brad Pitt wants us to be so understanding about - without anger and without judgement.

Can we all just get along? Kumbaya, Puff the Magic Dragon and flower power, man. All those terrorists need is a little love and understanding.

But hey, at the end of the day? Brad Pitt is still cute as hell, right?

2. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are denying wedding rumors. They’re planning on leaving Nambia in a few days… hmm, so Brad can start filming Oceans 13?
3. American Idol loser (why do we say runner-up? She’s not the winner.. therefore..?), Katharine McPhee, has signed a record deal with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited. (the label is managed by Simon).
4. How many of you could win the trivia question “Who was the Fifth Beatle?” Anyone? Well his name was Billy Preston and he died today at the age of 59. RIP. (of course, the fifth Beatle” has been used, accurately, to describe their bassist, Stuart Sutcliffe, who left the band in 1962, and died of a brain hemorrhage shortly thereafter. Similarly, their drummer Pete Best (replaced by Ringo Starr when the band got a record contract) is often cited as the “fifth Beatle.” - - so it’s all very confusing)
5. Questions arise about the new The Omen remake of why they are messing with the original? Good damned question!
6. Lawsuits are boiling over in regards to Shiloh Nouvel Joilie-Pitt’s (aka Brangelina spawn) mug shots (aka baby pictures) being published on several websites - - apparently Hello! Magazine (UK) and People Magazine (US) obtained exclusive rights to the pictures and are suing any website who publishes the pictures (aka scoops the aforementioned magazines).
7. Katie Holmes is set to cash in on her wedding to Tom Cruise. “Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fans may be hearing wedding bells — or maybe the sound of a cash register. The couple reportedly have hammered out a prenuptial agreement that will give Holmes as much as $33 million and that will pave the way for the two to get hitched.

   The happy couple and their lawyers have come up with a contract that will give Holmes $3 million a year up to $33 million for each year that she is married to Cruise, as well as a palatial home in Montecito, California, according to Life & Style Weekly. If the marriage lasts longer than eleven years, the contract becomes void and California’s community property law kicks in — giving Holmes half of Cruise’s rather sizeable fortune.

So, he’s not KFed’s replacement - - but we’re still hopefull that Britney will dump KFed and move on with her life - - because any life without KFed is a better life, indeed.

11. Seems American Idol’s Chris Daugherty will not be filling Fuel’s shortage - he’s declined the offer to be the frontman for popular band, Fuel. He must have other plans, eh?
12. Lindsay Lohan has turned into a proper Hollywood Diva now that she quit her new movie called Bill. Reason: The director of the movie is not well enough known.. First time directors are not good enough for the 19 year old upstart. Bitch.

How to get the government of an impoverished nation to bow to your every request? Become famous.. like really REALLY famous… then get pregnant.

Alright.. next step. Enter said impoverished nation, announcing to the world that THIS is where you intend on birthing your baby - and THEN spend lots of money with the inferred promise of increased tourism and appeal because your HUGE star celebrity status will turn the worlds impression of the impoverished country on its collective heel.

Once you’ve done that - you can DICTATE! W00T!

You can secure the borders. You can secure the airspace. You can ban foreign reporters from even ENTERING the country! The leader of said impoverished country will BOW to your every whim because of the promise and potential that your, apparently incredibly powerful, star studded celebrity status and fame will bring into the country.

Make sure you make up for all that incredible self-importance by selling the first pictures of your newborn for $5.4Mil and donating the proceeds to charity.

Namibia ‘bowed to pressure’ from Pitt and Jolie over birth

The Republic of Namibia - the impoverished country of 1.8 million known for its wild remoteness - not only welcomed the movie stars, it handed over control of its international land borders and airspace to them.

As the world awaited the birth of the child at a luxury villa complex on the coast, Namibian authorities said they had bowed to pressure from Jolie and Pitt and granted them the right to ban foreign journalists from entering the country - a remarkable move for the Government of any sovereign state.

The stars told ministers they would quit the country unless allegedly intrusive journalists and paparazzi were brought to heel.

But the exceptionally high-profile presence of Pitt and Jolie promises to be a massive boost to tourist income in the desperately poor country, where the average wage is $46 a week.

Three weeks ago, one South African and three French photographers were expelled from Namibia, a move attacked by human rights groups as a clear breach of the country’s civil liberties legislation.

Nonsense, said the Government. “This lady is expecting,” Prime Minister Nahas Angula said at the time. “You guys are harassing her. Why don’t you allow her some privacy? Harassment is not allowed in Namibia.”

Shiloh – which in one longstanding translation from the Bible has come to mean “the peaceful one” – was born in The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund.

Jolie is expected to remain in the hospital for a couple days before returning to the couple’s sea-side Namibian retreat.

Following the latest and greatest trend of attacking celebrities on their parenting skills, US Magazine publishes this picture of Brad Pitt and his adpoted daughter, Zahara - then asks the question: “Should Zahara Be Wearing a Helmet?”

First Britney and now Brad. Who is next, really?

US Magazine seeks the opinion of Debra Smiley, author of Safe Baby who states: ““She needs a helmet and closed-toe shoes. And I highly recommened toddlers ride in a child trailer pulled by a bike. It’s more stable and secure.”

Everyone is a critic these days, see.

I just have to say that I’m really glad I didn’t have a gaggle of photographers following me around the day that I fell down a flight of stairs with my (then) 6 month old daughter in my arms. (she was ok - I, however, broke my tailbone in the process because I couldn’t put my arms out to save myself, otherwise I would’ve dropped her!)

Nor, thankfully, were the papparazi around the day my (then) 2 year old son decided to unbuckle himself from his safety seat and climbed over the seat to sit in my lap as I was driving 65 MPH down the highway! Yikes!

Though, I do have to say - the image of little Zahara without a helmet or shoes on does make me cringe with the all the ‘What Ifs’ that go through my head.
