Now THIS is exciting news for me - - a huge Tori fan from way back, her website at ToriAmos.Com has announced the release of her new album, “American Doll Posse”!!! The release date is May 1, 2007! In addition - Tori has announced her world tour launching May 2007 - beginning in Rome, Italy - no American dates have been mentioned yet… but I just might have the opportunity to see her at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, UK in July - - I’m hoping! Keeping my fingers crossed anyways.

I confirmed it tonight - we’re headed to see Christina Aguilera in concert on April 20th for her Back To Basics tour! I’m pretty jazzed about it, too!

If you would have talked to me during her Genie in a Bottle phase - I would have said “Christina, who??” — But, I happen to think her Stripped album is one of my top tens; musically, vocally and lyrically. And her latest Back to Basics release? Damn that girl has got some pipes!

I simply love the fact that she’s gotten into this whole jazz and blues genre of music because her voice and style are simply suited for it and really gives spotlight to that voice.

THAT VOICE!

During her tour - Christina will be featured in various scenarios, from a good girl gospel choir, to a sultry strip tease in which she removes a flapper dress to reveal a vintage 20s swimsuit. In one of the racier numbers, “Nasty Naughty Boy,” Christina, dressed in a bra and shorts, brings a male audience member onstage and shows off her S&M side by using five whips and a burning Wheel of Death. Subtle. Despite her current glamorous old Hollywood look, Christina proves she’s “Still Dirrty” by donning some hot lace chaps and riding a carousel horse that comes with its own built-in stripper pole. Yow! X-tina has the entire package.. the looks, the bod and all of that extreme talent wrapped up into one person. I love her transformation. I love that she’s happy with her marriage to Jordan Bratman. I love the songs that she has written and performed for him and how cute they are together. She gives hope in a world of ridiculous celebrity antics (coughBritneycough).

Something about that song…the way she sings it - - the emotional tone of the song, just gets me every single time. Put together with the video - I’m damn near in tears.

Yea, I’m a sap. So, sue me. I’m a sucker for artists who open themselves up like Christina does in both “Stripped” and “Back to Basics”.

I can’t wait for this concert! The opening act is The Pussycat Dolls, which I’m thrilled about; and Danity Kane, which I could take or leave. Feh.

Did you see how Christina and hubby Jordan spent a special Valentine’s Day at Disney World? Back at the place where it all started for her. The former Mouseketeer and her husband celebrated Valentine’s Day at Disneyland where they checked out some rides and met up with Mickey himself, who presented the singer with a personalized Valentine’s Day heart.

This isn’t the first time Aguilera, who picked up her fourth Grammy on Sunday, has turned to Mickey and friends for a celebration. The locale for her 24th birthday bash? Yup, Disneyland. She was part of Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary soiree in 2005 as well.

Her fomer Mouseketeer buddies could learn a thing or two from this diva.

Introduced by his wife, who was dressed in a cleavage-baring mini-dress despite her late pregnancy, Federline stalked about the stage with attitude as he rapped about his bling, popping Cristal (obviously oblivious to the whole hip-hop Cristal boycott) and his amazing rhyming skills.

“Don’t hate because I’m a superstar! And I’m married to a superstar! Nothin’ come between us no matter who you are!” he declared, as dancers pop-locked as his side.

Michael Jackson says he’s a subject of a conspiracy by former attorneys, associates and advisers to force him into financial ruin.

“In what could be one of the biggest conspiracies in entertainment history, documents have been sent to Michael Jackson and his representatives which reveal a deliberate plan by some former attorneys as well as associates and advisers to force Mr. Jackson into involuntary bankruptcy,”

Several concerts on the Dixie Chicks’ “Accidents & Accusations” tour have been canceled after slow ticket sales, but the group says it has replaced them with other dates.

Kansas City, Houston, St. Louis, Memphis and Knoxville are among 14 cities no longer on the original schedule released in May, according to a revised itinerary posted Thursday on the Dixie Chick’s Web site. [Source]

“We hope that our fans who were looking forward to a stop that is no longer on the tour will be able to join us at a nearby arena this fall, and we are sorry for any confusion or inconvenience these changes have caused,” the Dixie Chicks said.

Many country fans criticized the band after lead singer Natalie Maines told a London audience in 2003 on the eve of war in Iraq that the trio was “ashamed” President Bush was from their home state of Texas.

County radio stations dropped them from their playlists and have been slow to welcome them back, despite strong sales of their latest album, “Taking the Long Way.”

The album, which has more of a rock edge than their previous releases, spent several weeks at the top of the country albums chart and has sold more than 1 million copies.

No surprise that the cities with very low ticket sales are in the heartland of American - a demographic most offended by Natalie Maines’ mouth.

About 200 Kiss fans protested in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to demand that the band be inducted into the hall. Fans, some from as far away as California, carried signs Saturday and had painted their faces in black-and-white to resemble Kiss band members. [Source]

Those participating in the half-hour demonstration were upset that the band, formed more than 30 years ago, has not been admitted, even though it has been eligible since the late 1990s.

Personally, considering the impact KISS had on the music scene when they flew into the mainstream 3 decades ago - I’m surprised that fans need protest on this one. I mean, Gene Simmons tongue, ALONE, should get some recognition, eh?

1. Paris Hilton parks in spaces reserved for the handicapped. Either there is something we don’t know about Miss Hilton and her handicap, or she’s an ass. I put my vote in for ‘ass’.
2. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are denying wedding rumors. They’re planning on leaving Nambia in a few days… hmm, so Brad can start filming Oceans 13?
3. American Idol loser (why do we say runner-up? She’s not the winner.. therefore..?), Katharine McPhee, has signed a record deal with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited. (the label is managed by Simon).
4. How many of you could win the trivia question “Who was the Fifth Beatle?” Anyone? Well his name was Billy Preston and he died today at the age of 59. RIP. (of course, the fifth Beatle” has been used, accurately, to describe their bassist, Stuart Sutcliffe, who left the band in 1962, and died of a brain hemorrhage shortly thereafter. Similarly, their drummer Pete Best (replaced by Ringo Starr when the band got a record contract) is often cited as the “fifth Beatle.” - - so it’s all very confusing)
5. Questions arise about the new The Omen remake of why they are messing with the original? Good damned question!
6. Lawsuits are boiling over in regards to Shiloh Nouvel Joilie-Pitt’s (aka Brangelina spawn) mug shots (aka baby pictures) being published on several websites - - apparently Hello! Magazine (UK) and People Magazine (US) obtained exclusive rights to the pictures and are suing any website who publishes the pictures (aka scoops the aforementioned magazines).
7. Katie Holmes is set to cash in on her wedding to Tom Cruise. “Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes fans may be hearing wedding bells — or maybe the sound of a cash register. The couple reportedly have hammered out a prenuptial agreement that will give Holmes as much as $33 million and that will pave the way for the two to get hitched.

   The happy couple and their lawyers have come up with a contract that will give Holmes $3 million a year up to $33 million for each year that she is married to Cruise, as well as a palatial home in Montecito, California, according to Life & Style Weekly. If the marriage lasts longer than eleven years, the contract becomes void and California’s community property law kicks in — giving Holmes half of Cruise’s rather sizeable fortune.

8. Much speculation about Britney Spear’s new man… er.. Manny, as they call him. He’s a nanny. He’s a body guard. He’s cute. He’s built. And.. he already has a girlfriend.. So, he’s not KFed’s replacement - - but we’re still hopefull that Britney will dump KFed and move on with her life - - because any life without KFed is a better life, indeed.
9. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are hoping for a press-free wedding. Yea. Right.
10. Almost a year ago, Olivia Newton-John’s boyfriend Patrick Kim McDermott vanished while on an overnight fishing trip, leaving Newton-John, his family and authorities in the dark as to what happened to him, but fearful that he may have fallen overboard to his death. Shortly after, investigations revealed he was having strained relations with his ex wife over outstanding child support payments. Speculation about his own faked death ensued. Drama. Drama. Drama. Now - four separate witnesses claim to have seen him in Mexico since his dissapearance last year. Is Patrick McDermott the new Elvis?
11. Seems American Idol’s Chris Daugherty will not be filling Fuel’s shortage - he’s declined the offer to be the frontman for popular band, Fuel. He must have other plans, eh?
12. Lindsay Lohan has turned into a proper Hollywood Diva now that she quit her new movie called Bill. Reason: The director of the movie is not well enough known.. First time directors are not good enough for the 19 year old upstart. Bitch.
13. Happy Birthday to: Comedian Jerry Stiller is 79, Comedian-talk show host Joan Rivers is 73, Singer Nancy Sinatra is 66, Singer Boz Scaggs is 62, Singer Bonnie Tyler is 53, Actor-director Keenan Ivory Wayans is 48, Keyboardist Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran is 44, Rapper Kanye West is 28.

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the Dixie Chicks - - in particular, the political opinions of their lead singer, Natalie Maines - their newest album, Taking The Long Way - took the top spot on country albums chart and the Billboard 200 overall chart — which are based on sales rather than radio airplay — with 526,000 units sold in its first full week. The album has received a very cool (FRIGID) reception on country music radio stations and is not receiving very much airplay at all. But, the new album hit the stores on May 23 and the first week sales on the album were better than Toby Keith’s “White Trash With Money” (330,000) and Tim McGraw’s “Greatest Hits Vol. 2: Reflected” (242,000).

Seems we all know who WON’T be on Simon’s Christmas card list this year! Nor should we be expecting any repeat performances of the artist formerly known as Prince on any American Idol show, or future affiliate shows, any time in the near (if EVER) future:

AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL has turned his famous barbed comments on PRINCE after being appalled by the pop superstar’s surprise performance at the show’s finale last week (24MAY06). The PURPLE RAIN hitmaker took to the stage at the Kodak Theatre for a quick run through two new songs before dashing off, refusing to meet the Idol contestants or greet the audience. Idol host RYAN SEACREST has since reported that he feared Prince would be a no-show - because he appeared just minutes before he was due to hit the stage. And Cowell insists Prince’s attitude isn’t one he’d like Idol winners to display at any time in their career. He says, “It just tells you how selfish he is. Now that his radio show has completely crashed and burned - David Lee Roth wants back into Van Halen, as the lead singer.

Roth is also planning to tour later this summer to play Van Halen hits — “I’m so proud of that music,” he says — favorites from his solo album and covers. He’ll leave the banjos and fiddles at home, though.

“I like to bring out the brass section now and the keyboard players and the singers and so forth,” Roth explains. “It’s probably a little closer to the Rolling Stones’ revue than to the early three-piece power trio. But the demand is amazing; I guess I’m lucky enough to be one of those guys now who can point at the map and say ‘Let’s go here’ — or, rather, my favorite expression, which is ‘Let’s follow the sun.”‘ - [Source]

The last time David Lee Roth recorded music with Van Halen was in 1996 - a full decade ago. Come to think of it… does Van Halen even DO music anymore? They haven’t been on tour since the summer of ‘04. They haven’t released an album since 1998 (unless you count the 2004 release of “Best of Both Worlds” which is just a combination of the greatest hits from a mix of the Hagar and Roth years.)

Is the world ready for a Van Halen come back with David Lee Roth in the spotlight.

There’s something to be said for history that is perfect and untouched.

Rapper Ice Cube is no fan of Oprah. He joins rappers Ludacris and 50 (fitty) Cent in their beef with the talk show hostess because she never seems to invite rappers on her show. “Maybe she’s got something against rappers”, says Ice Cube.

Last month, 50 complained that Winfrey rarely invites rappers on her talk show: “I think she caters to older white women.” Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, told GQ magazine that the media mogul was “unfair” to him during a show he appeared on last October with co- stars from best-picture Oscar winner “Crash.”

Earlier this month, Winfrey defended herself in a surprise appearance on New York City-based radio station Power 105.1.

LOS ANGELES - Less than 12 hours after Madonna crucified herself on a mirrored cross, the Catholic League expressed its discontent with the concert stunt.

The controversial diva wore a crown of thorns and sang while hanging from a cross during Sunday night’s opener of her “Confessions” world tour at The Forum in Inglewood.

“Knock off the Christ-bashing,” Catholic League president Bill Donohue said in a statement Monday. “It’s just pathetic.”

Britney Spears has a new arrival on the way — no, not that one. She’s been working on a new album, and from what one of her collaborators has to say about it, she’s so dedicated she’s practically working every day on it, despite the demands of motherhood.
