Melissa Etheridge’s partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, is pregnant with twins, the couple has announced on the singer’s Web site.

“We are thrilled to announce that Tammy is pregnant, and expecting our twins sometime around this fall,” they said in a statement. “To answer the obvious question: we used an anonymous donor from a (sperm) bank.” - Source

Both girls were fathered by rock legend David Crosby via artificial insemination and borne to Etheridge’s former companion of 12 years, filmmaker Julie Cypher.

For all those homophobic-type, far right folks who are so frightened about the idea of a gay couple parenting? I’d bet my annual salary that Melissa and Tammy put more effort and time into planning this conception and birth than 80% of the heterosexual couples out there. Go girls!
